About

East Side Fire Protection District

East Side Fire District started with a handful of community members who wanted to create fire suppression capabilities to serve property owners on the east side of Lake Coeur d'Alene. Through dedication and perseverance, an all-volunteer fire department was born. East Side Fire District came to be in 1994, with one fire station and one fire apparatus in Carlin Bay. Since then, ESFD has grown to include three land-based fire stations with 16 vehicles, Emergency Medical Services since 2007, and most recently the addition of Station 4, a state-of-the- art fire boat that offers year-round service to the east side and mutual aid for other agencies. Our ongoing Essentials of Firefighting and Emergency Medical Technician courses have facilitated the growth of our ranks over the years. Each volunteer brings something different to ESFD, but together we are a cohesive team dedicated and committed to protect and serve the East Side. We are neighbors, helping neighbors.

At East Side Fire District, the well being of our community is our ultimate goal.
